Add a Backup Two-Factor Authentication Method

 

  1. Sign into My Payentry > My Settings > Manage Profile.

  1. Click on Add Backup Method button in the Two-Factor Authentication section, a Confirm Your Identity dialog opens.
  2. Enter a security code using your preferred two-factor authentication method. The Two-Factor section expands.

  1. Select a new backup authentication method, the options that are available will depend on what you chose as your main authentication method. Once you click a button, the fields for that option appear. If you select:
  • SMS/Text Message:
    • Enter a Phone Number to send verification code to.
    • Click Send Code.
    • Enter the code you received into the Enter Security Code field.
    • Click Verify Code.

  • Voice Call:
    • Enter a Phone Number to receive a call on.
    • Enter an Extension if you have one.
    • Answer a call that you receive, it will mostly likely be from an Unknown Number, a few moments after you select the call option. An automated voice will ask you to press 1 to receive your code and after you press 1, it will recite the code to you.
    • Enter the code you receive into the Enter Security Code field.
    • Click Verify Code.

  • Authenticator App:
    • Scan the QR Code shown on the screen using your preferred Authenticator App.
    • Enter the provided Security Code in the Enter Security Code field.
    • Click Verify Code.

You will now have multiple methods of two-factor authentication to choose from when validating your identity.
