Requirements

Before you use the Storeroom Manager feature, be aware of the following requirements:

  • To use the “preview” function, you must have an application to view PDF files installed on the computer that runs the Millennium® program.

You can use Adobe Reader for free (http://www.adobe.com); but, any product that can display and print PDF files will work.

  • To use the “packaging” function, you must purchase a Storeroom license agreement, which is separate from a Millennium® licensing agreement.
  • You must have the appropriate write-access permission to a file directory to store the generated storeroom packages and notification letters.
  • You must set aside enough disk storage space. The disk storage consumed will vary for each service bureau.

For example, a service bureau with 400 companies, a wide range of employee populations, and a dozen reports per payroll (including some year-to-date reports) can consume 20 GB of storage per year for the Storeroom and Package directories.

  • Sending password notifications by e-mail requires a properly configured SMTP server and a valid e-mail address for the client company.
  • CD/DVD burning requires third-party software that is not part of this package.

Important: While MPAY does not recommend any particular CD or DVD authoring software, MPAY does not recommend using the built-in CD authoring software that is bundled with the Windows XP operating system. It uses the “Joliet” file naming format, which limits the number of characters that can be used for a file name. Millennium® 3 Storeroom creates file names that exceed the Joliet file naming format limit. If you use the built-in CD authoring software in Windows XP and beyond, file names will be truncated on the CD and thus cause problems later on when viewing the Storeroom Package.
