Prevent Voiding Checks Drawn Off of a Specific Account Number
When you void a check, the system pulls the void’s information off of the original, associated check.
For example, an original check had a $1000 bonus earning code. The associated void check has that same earning code, but is made out for –$1000.
To make a rule about a specific account, the only modification to the generic rule is to add one condition for checks and another for direct deposits.
For checking accounts and direct deposit accounts, use the accountId and dirDeptAccountId fields, respectively. Each one should be populated with the ID of the bank account you wish to protect, found on:
To create this more specific rule, based on the generic version, follow the same steps explained for voiding paychecks with the following additions on the Conditions sub-tab:
- For checking accounts, enter the following values:
|
Target Object Type |
Field |
Op |
Value |
Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
This |
accountId |
= |
bank account ID |
Alpha |
The Type is always Alpha—even if your account ID is made of numbers.
The condition you create should be similar to the example in Figure 2-77:

For direct deposit, enter the following values:
|
Target Object Type |
Field |
Op |
Value |
Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
This |
dirDepAccountId |
= |
bank account ID |

The direct deposit conditions should also include the one monitoring the voucherNumber field as well (see How to Create the Version for Direct Deposits).
The condition you create should be similar to the example in Figure 2-78:
