Part 3: Assign the Role
Now that you have created your rules and role, assign the role to the appropriate users:
- In the Tree View, click on Users.
The system displays the Users page, as shown in Figure 2-68:
- Select the new role to the user from the Security Role drop-down list.
This user can now run reports and submit payrolls, but cannot approve any jobs that are requested.
- Repeat the role assignment to every user who should have the same capability.
Note: Users in this role can still see the Approve button on the Job Requests page and click on it. The system will display the normal message box. While it appears the rules of this role did not take effect, you will see in the job queue that particular job is still in the “Request” state. The system will not perform the actual approval process because of the security rules.
