Note: Before applying any security rules (including the examples below) to a user or role, please test them.

This topic provides common security examples for Millennium®.

Report-level security allows you to control user-level access to things like:

  • Report Types (Crystal Reports, hard-coded reports, and Report Writer reports)
  • The properties of a report
  • Viewing existing reports in a list
  • The standard list of reports
  • RPF files
  • Folders

The examples in this subject show you how to set up the more common security settings in Millennium®’s reporting area.

Important: Setting up these rules incorrectly may prevent your users from being able to log in. The system will give the user a “Runtime Error: abnormal program termination” message. Before implementing any of the examples in this section, use them on a test role or user first. Once you verify the results, use them for your roles & users.
